Freight Lifts/Vertical Reciprocating Conveyors (VRC)

Vertical Reciprocating Conveyors, or VRC Material Lifts provide the most economical, dependable, and safe method of high capacity freight movement between multiple levels, up to travel of 100 feet, with the smallest platform size or footprint possible. An economical alternative to expensive freight elevators or fork trucks, Autoquip VRC Material Lifts can be customized to improve freight and goods movement in any application: industrial mezzanines, retail stores, restaurants, warehouses, conveyor systems, and much more. Each Freight Lift is designed and manufactured to meet the industry safety requirements of ASME B20.1 (conveyors).

Hydraulic Freightlite VRC

The Freightlite VRC family of hydraulic material lifts are the most popular of the hydraulic designs, capable of moving materials weighing up to 3,000 pounds between two elevations that are up to 14 feet apart – typically to and from a mezzanine. Because the cantilevered carriage is raised and lowered in the guides by a pair of direct-acting hydraulic cylinders, the hydraulic Freightlites are the only models that ship completely pre-assembled, have few moving parts (no cables or chains), and are easy to install and operate. Other features of the Autoquip hydraulic Freightlite material lifts include unrestricted load height, hydraulic velocity fuses, overload protection, and zero drift. Typical applications are edge of mezzanine material transfer, freight elevator replacement, auto dealer shops, restaurant delivery, retail stores, warehousing, and packaging and distribution. "C", "Z", and "90 degree" load patterns are available with the Freightlite hydraulic VRC lift.


Hydraulic Cantilever VRC

The Cantilever VRC hydraulic Freightlifts are designed to move materials weighing up to 6,000 pounds between two elevations that are up to 28 feet apart – typically to and from a mezzanine. Autoquip hydraulic Cantilever material lifts raise and lower the carriage in two guide beams by means of two vertical hydraulic cylinders which pull heavy industrial cable (minimum safety factor of 6 to 1) over a series of 12" diameter sheaves which are mounted overhead. Safety features of these hydraulic VRC's include hydraulic velocity fuses, overload protection, zero drift, and two safety locking cams for free-fall arrest in the unlikely event of a cable or swage failure. Typical applications are edge of mezzanine, freight elevator replacement, conveyor systems, explosion-proof environments, warehousing, retail storage and movement of goods, and packaging and distribution. "C", "Z" and "90 degree" load patterns are available with the Cantilever hydraulic VRC lifts.


Hydraulic Straddle VRC

The Straddle VRC hydraulic Freightlifts are designed to move materials weighing up to 6,000 pounds between two elevations that are up to 28 feet apart – typically to and from a mezzanine. Autoquip hydraulic Straddle material lifts raise and lower the carriage in two guide beams by means of two vertical hydraulic cylinders which pull heavy industrial cable (minimum safety factor of 6 to 1) over a series of 12" diameter sheaves which are mounted overhead. Safety features of these hydraulic VRC's include hydraulic velocity fuses, overload protection, zero drift, and two safety locking cams for free-fall arrest in the unlikely event of a cable or swage failure. Typical applications are edge of mezzanine, freight elevator replacement, conveyor systems, warehousing, explosion-proof environments, retail storage and movement of goods, and packaging and distribution. Mechanical Cantilever VRC

The Cantilever VRC mechanical Freightlifts are designed to move materials weighing up to 6,000 pounds between multiple elevations as high as 100 feet – typically to and from mezzanines, between floors of a building, or inside elevator shafts. Autoquip mechanical Cantilever material lifts raise and lower the carriage in two guide beams by means of a top-mounted brake motor, helical gear reducer, a one-piece drive shaft, and synchronized heavy-duty lifting chains (minimum factor of safety of 6 to 1). Operational features of the mechanical VRC include variable or high speeds, platform tension rollers and permanently adjusted chain tensioners. Safety features of this material lift include overload or jam protection, slack chain safety stop, and two safety locking cams for free-fall arrest in the unlikely event of a chain failure. Typical applications for mechanical VRC lifts are edge of mezzanine to multiple levels, freight elevator replacement, automatic systems, and conveyor projects with typical markets being warehousing, food processing, textile, and packaging and distribution. "C", "Z", and "90 degree" load patterns are available with the Cantilever mechanical VRC lift.


Mechanical Straddle VRC

The Straddle VRC mechanical Freightlifts are designed to move materials weighing up to 6,000 pounds between multiple elevations as high as 100 feet – typically to and from mezzanines, between floors of a building, or inside elevator shafts. Autoquip mechanical Straddle material lifts raise and lower the carriage in two guide beams by means of a top-mounted brake motor, helical gear reducer, a one-piece drive shaft, and synchronized heavy-duty lifting chains (minimum factor of safety of 6 to 1). Operational features of the mechanical VRC include variable or high speeds, platform tension rollers and permanently adjusted chain tensioners. Safety features of this material lift include overload or jam protection, slack chain safety stop, and two safety locking cams for free-fall arrest in the unlikely event of a chain failure. Typical applications for mechanical VRC lifts are edge of mezzanine to multiple levels, freight elevator replacement, automatic systems, and high cycle conveyor projects with typical markets being warehousing, food processing, textile, and packaging and distribution. "C" and "Z" load patterns are available (no 90 degree load patterns).


Mechanical 4 Post VRC

The High Capacity 4-Post VRC mechanical Freightlifts are designed to provide extra support for off-center loads, high edge loads, and to move very heavy freight weighing up to 15,000 pounds between multiple elevations as high as 100 feet – typically to and from mezzanines, between floors of a building, or inside elevator shafts. Autoquip High Capacity 4-Post mechanical material lifts raise and lower the carriage in four guide beams by means of a top-mounted brake motor, helical gear reducer, a one-piece drive shaft, and four synchronized heavy-duty lifting chains (minimum factor of safety of 6 to 1). Operational features of this Autoquip mechanical VRC include variable or high speeds, platform tension rollers, permanently adjusted chain tensioners, and the ability to be a free-standing lift. Safety features of this heavy duty material lift include overload or jam protection, slack chain safety stop, and four safety locking cams for free-fall arrest in the unlikely event of a chain failure. Typical applications for mechanical 4-post VRC lifts are edge of mezzanine to multiple levels, freight elevator replacement, automatic systems, and high cycle or conveyor projects with typical markets being warehousing, textile, paper and steel mills, vehicle floor-to-floor transfer, and packaging of large unit loads. "C", "Z", and "90 degree" load patterns are available with the High Capacity 4-post mechanical VRC lift.


VRC Gates and Enclosures

Autoquip gates and enclosures provide maximum safety and protection for high travel lift applications. Gates and enclosure may be required to meet Federal, State or local codes. Built to last with sturdy, heavy duty vertical posts and expanded metal panels, Autoquip safety enclosures and gates are designed for dependable operation with a minimum of maintenance. All gates can be equipped with electro-mechanical interlocks and are available in standard and custom sizes to match any application. Standard gates offer 7' load clearance.
