High-Capacity Pan Lift for Efficient Dock Access
Introduction
High-capacity pan lift solves space and load challenges.
Project Challenge
One of our dealers brought us a customer who needed to replace an existing pan lift that had become a bottleneck in their operation. The previous system, rated at only 6,000 lbs, could no longer support the heavier pallet loads of supplies now required in their workflow.
Complicating matters, the facility presented significant structural constraints:
- A pit-mounted dock lift was not feasible due to site limitations
- A traditional ramp solution would consume too much valuable floor space
- The operation required seamless movement between ground level and a dock 42 inches above
- The customer needed a compact, high-capacity solution that could integrate into the existing layout without sacrificing efficiency or safety.
Our Solution
Autoquip engineered a custom high-capacity pan-style lift designed specifically for this constrained environment. Because pan lifts sit nearly flush to the floor when lowered, they eliminate the need for a pit or long ramp—making them ideal for facilities where space and structural modification are limited.
This solution allows operators to:
- Load at ground level using an electric forklift
- Elevate heavy pallet loads safely and efficiently
- Transition smoothly to the dock level with minimal effort
