A customer required a safe, efficient, and highly precise method for installing counterweight and skid plates beneath their equipment. The process demanded exact alignment of bolt holes in a confined space, where traditional material handling methods lacked the fine control needed for accurate positioning.

Manual adjustment methods were time-consuming, physically demanding, and posed significant safety risks when working beneath heavy equipment. They also increased the likelihood of misalignment or damage during installation. The customer needed a solution that would provide both vertical lifting capability and smooth, omni-directional positioning.

Autoquip engineered a custom air-powered pallet lift system, integrating a Series 35 scissor lift with an Aerofilm® air caster pallet system to deliver both lift and precision mobility in a single solution.

At the core of the system is a Series 35 scissor lift, mounted directly to the air pallet base, providing a 2,000 lb. lifting capacity. This allows operators to safely raise and position counterweights or skid plates to the required height.

The Aerofilm® air pallet system creates a thin film of air beneath the load, enabling near-frictionless, omni-directional movement. This allows operators to make fine positional adjustments with minimal effort, ensuring accurate alignment of bolt holes during installation, something not achievable with conventional wheeled systems.
