Custom Built 90 Degree Upender Handles Large Oversize Munition for Army Defense Plant.

The Army ammunition plant in McAlister, OK manages the arsenals and plants that produce conventional ammunition for the Department of Defense. This plant manufactures a wide range of ammunition. This particular munition is very long & heavy and required a specialized lift to handle the movement of the highly sensitive material.

Partnering with our dealer Alpha Material Handling who provided specifications for the project, Autoquip designed and built a 40,000 lb. capacity, extra-large upender to tilt munitions up to 18 feet long. This lift was also fabricated to operate in a hazardous rated environment.  Heavy Duty Power Unit and 4 Oversized Cylinders assist the speed of operation for a lift this size. The advance control systems offers an easy way to activate the lift with a simple to use wall mount push button – press and hold. The control command center includes an HMI display screen indicating the various degrees the tilt is positioned in.
