Autoquip Mourns The Loss Of Valued Employee – Steve Stamps, Supervisor Planning & Production Control
It is with significant sadness that we announce the passing of one of our beloved co-workers, Steve Stamps. Steve has been with Autoquip for 37 years where he started as an engineer draftsman and worked his way up in the organization to Supervisor Planning and Production Control. Steve demonstrated dedication, generosity, and an uncompromising work ethic. He exemplified the very best in an employee.
Today, we honor Steve by profoundly feeling and expressing our loss, but also by remembering what an amazing person he was and the vital role he played in delivering our business goals and mission. The best way to honor Steve and his legacy is to put into practice what he demonstrated every day – kindness, humility, drive, integrity, and empathy.
Tributes from our Autoquip family about Steve:
“Steve was the meticulous professional; always calm, focused and dedicated. Tirelessly driven to find solutions to the next to impossible, from production planning, ERP implementations/upgrades and or merging acquired companies into our production facilities. Valued by all, as he always had time to explain situations, develop procedures and then train those who needed help,” Chris Kuehni, President of Autoquip.
“Steve was the true essence of Autoquip; long tenure, hardworking, focused on the customer. He enjoyed what he did and the people he worked with. I think you never fully know a person until you have spent time together away from the office. I will always look back fondly to the time spent traveling together during an acquisition,” Louis Coleman, Sr. Director of Sales & Marketing.
“Steve and I go way back to AQ’s early days. He was always a consummate employee always with Autoquip’s interest at the forefront of his decisions. From his time in engineering to production services he was most helpful with me and would get answers that was need for me to serve our customers. Most important to me he was a great friend, and I will miss him,” Donnie Crabtree, Inside Sales Rep.
“I had the pleasure of working with Steve during his entire tenure at Autoquip. The news of his loss was heartbreaking and difficult for all of us. Steve was always willing to challenge our system software to utilize the full capabilities. He was versed in all areas from sales quote to shipping, including engineering, production control, manufacturing, purchasing, receiving, accounting, and shipping. He was a go-to supportive team member. We could count on an added smile and chuckle in many conversations. He will truly be missed in our Autoquip family,” Cheryl McCormick, Purchasing Manager.
“Steve was everything to the company. He was committed to his work and to the people he worked with. He was just a top-notch guy,” Kenneth Wilkinson, Sr. Special Project Estimator.
Even the very best of words, cannot begin to pay tribute or truly capture the sense of loss we are all feeling at Autoquip.
