Project Challenge
A recreational vehicle manufacturer required a more efficient and ergonomic method to assemble frames on their automated production line. Workers needed to access different areas of the vehicle during assembly, which meant frequent height adjustments to position the work at the correct level. The customer also needed the system to integrate seamlessly with their automated guided cart system that moved frames along the assembly track.
Our Solution
Autoquip provided 40 customized Tork 1 scissor lift tables, each mounted onto an automated cart base that travels along a fixed track to multiple workstations. The vehicle frame is secured on an aluminum base, which sits on top of the lift table for stability during the assembly process.
The lift tables are designed to raise and lower smoothly, allowing workers to adjust the vehicle to their preferred ergonomic height for each step in the build process. This reduces strain, improves productivity, and ensures quality throughout the assembly line.
Each lift is equipped with a 4-sided accordion safety skirting to protect the scissor mechanism. The skirts also feature venting to allow heat escape, ensuring safe and efficient operation in continuous use.
