Autoquip Announces New Quality Control Assurance Manager
Autoquip is pleased to announce Robert Tanner as its new Quality Assurance Manager. Robert is the successor to Darren Williams who will retire at the end of December.
Robert comes to Autoquip with 35 years of experience in the manufacturing industry. He recently held the position of Director of Engineering and Quality at TMCO, a natural gas orifice fitting manufacturer. In his role at TMCO, he worked to establish and enforce strict quality standards, implemented continuous improvement initiatives, developed and improved vendor quality and processes while also maintaining his certification in ISO 9001:2015.
Robert spent his early career as a draftsman for CMP Corporation where he spent 26 years refining his skills in manufacturing, quality, engineering, and safety along with formal training in Solidworks, ISO 9001, NACE MR0175, Lean Manufacturing and 5S.
When asked about what he enjoys the most about joining Autoquip, Robert said, “I get a lot of satisfaction from a job well done and take a lot of pride in a quality product that I helped produce. I am looking forward to those achievements here at Autoquip. I also look forward to meeting and learning from longtime employees that have been with the company 40+ years. Hearing about their experiences and knowledge will be beneficial to my job and get me up to speed faster. This longevity tells me what a great place Autoquip is to work with that so many people who have been here for so long.”
Robert understands the critical role in Total Quality Management (TQM) systems and of the role the Quality Assurance department has to the success of Autoquip. He will work to apply best quality control practices in vital areas, audit our vendors and internal processes, foster continual improvement, and take a proactive approach to improving quality in an effort to exceed our customer’s expectations.
